This band headed by Alex Knost pro surfer, is the exact band That you hate because you are not them. They are signed to Vice Records probably because of Knost being a pro surfer, and they write jams about surfing and partying at the beach. Exactly what you expect a pro surfers band to be like. Of course Knost is a cool surf type, not the dick head bro type. His surfing is a creative new breed of longboarding, and you just know he is a dude who does is own thing, and totally gets babes for doing it so well. It's a huge bummer for he is the guy that all of us burried in three feet of snow wants to be. So Fuck him. If I knew the other dudes in the band I would talk about them, but of course I dont. So currently I am just another blog glorifying a dude I am super jealous of. At least his band is just ok, its must the snow thats getting to me, yeah thats it!

The Beets

No one reads this shit any way so I dont feel like posting a link. And if you have managed to find this blog then you know what medifire is. The Beets on the other hand are better than my shitty blog. They have more indie cred than alot of their fellow New York City bands because they actualy grew up there. Pavement noticed, and gave The Beets an opening slot at their summerstage perfomance in august or some shit. I really like their first record, and I dont think the I like the second one as much. But I have to give it time. The Beets are one of the many in the current lo-fi army but at least the singer has a cool acoustic guitar tone. They are a Garage band and they are good. But who the fuck am I to tell.

This is only a few dudes, not myself complaing. Wait what? Haha. This is an acutal band or was I'm not sure about there current staus. I do know they are a band with brothers in it, and they apperently like to punch each others faces on stage. Regardless, they have nice album art, and clever use rhythm. It's especally great when you are actually really sick of dealing with women. Who would of thought, full circle.

Black Lips

The Black Lips are the definition of what a modern band should be. True to their roots and even truer to themselves, they are a band that deserves every little thing they receive. The band simply is rock n' roll there is no other way to put it. Touring extensively to all corners of the globe the band just does not seem to stop, which is what sets them apart from other groups today. Finally, we have a band that can tell all those people that say music is not what is was to shout their mouths.

Beach Fossils

I do not know how much I can say I like this band. They have this weird hold over me where I listen to them fairly often, but I have a strange disliking towards them. I have seen them live several times and each time was honestly not that great. They have just a two piece drum kit (floor tom and snare) that I absolutely hate. I feel like they have so much more potentially if they utilized a whole kit, instead of limiting themselves to a couple drums. Oddly enough, after seeing a band I do not like, I tend to stop listening to them. In this case, I seem to listen to them more so than ever. With obvious surf pop sensibility you get nice summer vibes, yet you get this winter time chill as well. They have something you can't put your finger on but of course you keep trying to. Its a band thats worth getting used to. I guess?

WAVVES KING OF THE BEACH

This record is kInd of insane. I know so many who hated him previously to this especially after his antics in Europe and and a lot of the lo-fi shit he put out. It is quite good, the album was produced by Dennis Herring who also produced Modest Mouse, The Hives, Elvis Costello, and Counting Crows. Despite the fact that you may potentially hate all of those you, know deep down that you that this record was done very well and you should at least check it. Do not be that much of a hipster you can always delete it or hide it from your friends.
